Presentation
The fishermen holiday, in other words "The Saint Pierre's Atonement Day" is a very popular celebration for the citizens of Sète.
On Friday evening the statue of the fishermen's patron saint is perched on a boat carried in procession by fishermen from the Penitent's chapel to the Décanale Saint Louis.
This night procession is followed by the fishermen sons in traditional costume.
On Sunday, a moving procession of exceptionally dressed trawlers, taking St Pierre's statue, leaves the port and goes to pay tribute to the offshore missing persons.
During the weekend a carnival and traditional jousts are organized by the Association of the Fishermen Sète Môle on Sète canals to liven up the district of the Marine and the Old harbour.
